President Obama proposed his plan for an executive action to bring millions of undocumented individuals out of the shadows. Here are a few of the changes we can look forward to:
Temporary Work Visas for:
Parents of U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Children who
-Have been in the United States for Five years or more
-Have passed a background check
-Register and begin paying taxes
-Pay filing fees
Students:
-Increase in the OPT program for students
-Reforming the H1-B visa program
-Allowing work visas for spouses of H1-B holders
Visa Processing:
-Modernization of the current visa program
-Reduced processing time
-Increased availability of provisional waivers
